Since 2010, Brian has been exploring various corners of the food and beverage industry, with a focus in fine spirits and cocktails. His intentions at Kinfolk are to build a sustainable and rewarding quality of life for his bar team, and to curate unforgettable tasting experiences for Kinfolk's guests. Brian loves to travel, to play in his band, to ride motorcycles, and his dog Charley.

In his role as Kinfolk’s cocktail and spirits librarian, it is Ben Robinette’s mission to encourage his colleagues and guests toward a passion for exploring and learning about the global community of beverage-making and all of the subjects that it encompasses. Ben strives to further develop Kinfolk’s goals of creativity and curation by upholding ideals of sensory enthusiasm, world citizenship, and — as George Saintsbury published in 1920 — an “appreciation of difference without insisting on superiority."

Joe Nguyen oversees spirit curation, barrel programming, training and much more at Kinfolk and Moonshine Bar & Grill. He holds a degree from University of Houston in Hotel and Restaurant Management and is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Coffee Expert by Illy’s Università del Caffè. His keen eye for detail from lighting to guest interaction are apparent in every step of the Kinfolk experience.

Both Texas born and raised, Chuck and Larry have been in the hospitality industry since before Austin was a global culinary destination. Having founded multiple restaurant brands with over 60 locations across the country, Kinfolk is a passion project created to pay homage to the unique space and their love of craft spirits.

A born-and-raised Austinite and University of Texas alum, Devon has been a member of the Moonshine & Kinfolk team since 2008. Devon manages all catering and private events, and enjoys working with clients from our hometown and around the globe.

Kyal has been in the Austin service industry since 2018. At Kinfolk, she particularly enjoys working with spicing agents such as nutmeg and clove in her cocktails, which she finds creates a subtle familiarity even when tasting a recipe for the first time.

When she’s not behind a bar, you can catch her sipping scotch, reading, cooking, or hanging with her cats.

Trey is always excited to discover something new and authentic, and is especially excited to share his own new spirit and cocktails discoveries with his guests.

Alex graduated from UMD College Park and immediately moved to NYC where she lived for 10 years, primarily working in management at Walter’s in Fort Greene, Barbuto in the West Village, and Donna Cocktail Club in Brooklyn. During Covid she dived into the bartending world while at Donna Cocktail Club, which led her to Otra Vez in New Orleans, and Kinfolk Library & Lounge in Austin, TX.

We encourage you to pursue reunions with our takes on old favorites, as well as introduce yourself to new members of the families waiting to be met and enjoyed. Our Spirits Library holds over 900 different bottles centered around a communal table for 10. Our library features rare, fine & allocated spirits sourced from craft makers around the world. Every bottle is available by dram or for creative cocktail composition.

Enjoy a small selection of artisan small bites, including charcuteries, cheeses, and sweets, specially curated to accompany any beverage on our menu.

After descending the cellar staircase, the Kinfolk Lounge is the first room you enter, furnished with fine leather seating adjacent to our bar, where spirits come to life.
